Lip Blush Procedure

Before Your Appointment (Pre-Treatment) To achieve the best results and minimize sensitivity, please follow these guidelines:

 

1. Lip preparation
Keep your lips well hydrated for at least 5–7 days before your appointment.

Gently exfoliate your lips 2–3 times during the week prior.
Avoid cracked, dry, or sunburned lips.
 

2. Avoid irritants
No lip fillers or cosmetic lip treatments for at least 2–4 weeks before the procedure.

Avoid alcohol and caffeine 24 hours before your appointment.
Do not take blood-thinning medications (aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, vitamin E) for 48 hours unless prescribed by your doctor.
 

3. Cold sore prevention
If you are prone to cold sores, consult your doctor about taking an antiviral medication 3–5 days before and after your appointment.

 

4. Health considerations
Do not book your appointment if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, sick, or have an active infection.

Avoid scheduling during your menstrual cycle if you are sensitive to pain.
 

5. Day of appointment
Arrive with clean lips (no numbing cream ).

Eat a light meal beforehand and stay hydrated.

Aftercare Instructions (Post-Treatment) Proper aftercare is essential for healing and color retention.

First 24–48 hours
Expect swelling and tenderness — this is normal.
Gently blot lymph fluid with a clean tissue if needed.
Apply the recommended healing balm with clean hands.
 
Days 1–7 (Healing period)
Keep lips clean and moisturized with the aftercare product provided.
Avoid touching or picking at peeling skin.
Do not apply lipstick, lip gloss, or makeup on the lips.
Avoid spicy, salty, or acidic foods that may irritate the area.
Drink through a straw to reduce contact with the lips.
 
Activities to avoid for 7–10 days
Swimming, saunas, steam rooms, and excessive sweating
Direct sun exposure and tanning
Kissing or friction on the lips
Smoking (as much as possible)

General healing expectations

Color will appear darker for the first few days, then soften by up to 30–50% as it heals.
Peeling may occur around days 3–5.
